Casablanca has a new Spanish address: Taberna 11, a tapas restaurant on rue Mozart. Run by Mehdi Hsissen and his son Ghali, this family project aims to recapture the spirit of the tapas bars, places where people come as much to eat well as to enjoy a good time, around generous plates to share.
A two-generation adventure
At the origin of Taberna 11 is a shared passion for the food and atmosphere of tapas bars. Father and son are launching this new adventure together, with the same wish: to offer Casablanca residents their little piece of Spain, in a warm place where conversations cross and the pleasure of sharing matters as much as what is on the plates.
Three Barcelona addresses as inspiration
The inspiration comes from three emblematic Barcelona establishments: Ciudad Condal, Vinitus and Cervecería Catalana. Mehdi and Ghali Hsissen say they appreciate their food, their conviviality and that buzz that makes you want to extend the evening around a few more sharing plates. To bring that inspiration to life, they entrusted the creation of their menu to the executive chef of those establishments, with the aim of offering an experience faithful to their Spanish favourites.
Tapas at the centre of the table
At Taberna 11, the promise is tasty, generous Spanish cooking, with tapas at the centre of the table and of the experience. The founders also claim very accessible prices, wanting their restaurant to be a place you can easily return to, for a meal with friends or a moment with family.
